I offer psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, leadership coaching, couples therapy, and clinical consultation. Therapy and coaching are considerably different. Please inquire to learn more.

I completed my pre-licensed training at Richmond Area Multi-Services and Access Institute for Psychological Services. Upon licensure, I began a doctorate in History of Consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I earned my diploma in leadership coaching from Emory University and have since resumed clinical training at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.

Some areas of professional interest include complex trauma; anxiety and self-criticism; loss and bereavement; creative blocks; professional identity formation; group and organizational psychology; leadership and the psychology of founders; emotional attunement in couples (including co-founders); gender and sexuality; race and ethnicity; social class; child, adolescent, and adult development; addiction and recovery; attachment dynamics in professional and romantic relationships; and the psychological effects of social, political, and environmental crises.

In addition to private practice, I teach postmasters, predoctoral, and postdoctoral clinicians at Access Institute for Psychological Services and the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis,. I’ve also taught in the Humanities Division and Division of Social Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

I write about a range of topics, including politics, philosophy, psychoanalysis, and the history of psychological sciences. My academic writing has appeared in Fort Da, Théologiques, Psychoanalytic Dialogues, the Journal of Psychosocial Studies, the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and more. I am a Contributing Editor for Studies in Gender and Sexuality, an Associate Editor for Psychoanalytic Dialogues, and an Editorial Associate for the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

Please contact me to discuss fees. All fees are set according to a sliding scale. I don’t take insurance, but I (often successfully) help clients obtain partial reimbursement through their insurers.
